Nancy devoted her life to her family, forgoing her career to stay home and raise her children. She previously worked at Ornamental Iron in Akron, Ohio before her marriage to Maurice on October 2, 1954 at St. Sebastian’s Church in Akron, Ohio. They made their first home in Akron, built their dream home in Copley and lived their golden years together in Green, Ohio. Everything she did – from her Italian cooking, making jam, golfing, family gatherings – was spent doing things for others. She was known by many names which included “Sweetheart, Mom, Momma, Meemaw, Grandma, Aunt Nancy and Meemee”. She was a devout Catholic and attended Queen of Heaven Church in Green. She was all of her families’ cheerleader, prayer warrior and example of how to lead a Christian life. She was very much loved and spent her final days surrounded by those she loved.
Special thanks to the staff at Green Village Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and floor 8100 at Akron General Medical Center/Cleveland Clinic for the exceptional and compassionate care given to Nancy in the last weeks of her life on this earth – We also thank our many family members and friends for the words of encouragement and all the other forms of support we have received when we needed it most.
