Smiling, kindness, prayer ... and lots of “I love you”. Surrounded by her loving family, that’s what our mom gave us in her last months as she prepared to pass into her Lord and Savior’s arms. She’s now more alive than ever! At age 87, Mary Jane Koly passed on June 12th peacefully at home. Born September 28th, 1930 in McKeesport, PA and raised in Akron, Mary Jane along with her husband Stephen of 44 years enjoyed a wonderful life and raised five children with loving care, discipline and fun. The family will always remember all the fabulous homemade meals and baked goods she prepared and the clothes she sewed for us. Family vacations across the country, swimming picnics and cookouts, dancing to polkas and gardening are just a few of the many ways she expressed her vibrant spirit. Mary Jane worked at JCPenney’s for over 30 years and was the best at finding a good bargain. She was a devoted mother and a dear friend to many who had the pleasure to know her. A “Florida snowbird” in her retirement years, she enjoyed playing golf, bocce ball and Texas Hold’em with her special friend Lucy and other Heritage friends. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Stephen Koly and brothers Joseph and Daniel Lesniak. Mary Jane is survived by her children, Stephen (Patti Lee), David (Nancy), Michael (Nancy), Kathleen Booth (Craig), and Diane Schumaker (Ron), grandchildren Kristen Koly Blanks (Trai) and Christopher Koly, great-grandson Dominick Blanks, and brothers Bill, Bernie, Chester and John Lesniak. A special thank you to Maida Rini for loving and taking care of mom like a sister. The family wishes to thank all caregivers for their exceptional care of Mary Jane. Like the beauty of a fresh-picked flower blossom, was the life of our mom. Beautiful!
