William Murphy

Bill passed away on July 16, 2024 at the Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center at the age of 83. He was born on January 15, 1941 in Frostburg, Maryland to the late William and Marguerite Murphy. He attended Hower Trade and Copley High Schools and went on to join the United States Navy where he served on the U.S. Independence aircraft carrier.

He and his surviving wife of 63 years, Donna, were blessed with two daughters, Nancy Murphy (deceased) and Christine (Darrel) Richardson; also grandson Tyler (Kaitlin) and great granddaughter Koralee. Also surviving siblings, Julia Senn (Roger), Richard Murphy (Sharon), James Murphy (Diana) and Virginia Fisher.

Besides a career of 40 years at Firestone - Bridgestone he also enjoyed traveling and camping with his family, motorcycling, and snowmobiling.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Hummel Funeral Homes at 3475 Copley Rd. Copley, OH 44321 on Monday July 22, 2024 at 11:00am and a funeral service at 12:00pm. Interment at Copley Cemetery to follow.
