William A. Sokol, 91, passed away January 23, 2014, after a short illness. He was born and raised in Akron, and attended the University of Akron in the field of Engineering. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force during WWII. After the war, he was self-employed as a paint contractor, serving large factories and commercial businesses all over N.E. Ohio. He later worked in the Planning Dept. for the City of Akron, from where he retired in 1984. He loved fishing, hunting, and being outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Suzanne Sokol, an infant sister, brothers John F. Sokol and Edwin Sokol and his loving wife, Ruth, who was taken from this earth much too soon. It's been 40 years, but now they are together again. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Mike Brobeck, granddaughter, Michelle Coffee, great grandchildren, Logan and Kayla Coffee, and step grandson, Andrew Brobeck.
