William R. Healy, 67, of Bath Twp., passed away unexpectedly Wednesday October 21, 2015. Bill was a US Navy veteran serving as an intelligence specialist during the Vietnam War. He spent the majority of his career as a horticulture therapist with the Summit County Board of Developmental Disabilities. He retired in 2000 after 27 years' service. Following retirement, Bill became a self-employed landscape designer, certified by the Association of Professional Landscape Designers. He was very dedicated to the profession and served on the Board of Directors for many years. Bill leaves behind his wife Marsha, brother Dan and wife Martha of North Olmsted, brother Jim and wife Lanne of Houston TX, brother John of Baton Rouge LA, sister Marjorie Matson of Austin TX and his beloved dogs Guy Fox and Mini Me. Bill was a kind and gentle man who was a very loyal friend and husband. He strived to make the world a more beautiful place through his landscape design. He will be greatly missed by his family and many friends. Calling hours will be 4-7 pm Monday, Nov. 2, at the Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Rd. Copley, Ohio. Memorial service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, Nov. 3 at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 3300 Morewood Rd. Akron, Ohio.
