Wilbur Emery

March 22, 1922 — August 19, 2008

On August 19th 2008 Wilbur C. (Bud) Emery sixth oldest child of Eva and Demitrius Emery of Copley joined his two brothers and four sisters in their heavenly home. Bud is survived by his wife Mary of 65 years his children Tom (Jane) Susan Vogelsong (Greg) Richard Francie Mishler (John) and Patty Harrison (Lee) as well as his brothers Don and Robert and sisters Mary Pyles Elsie Gilles Dolly Laukauf and Grace Emery. He will also be greatly missed by his ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. During his life Bud was co-owner of Emery's Sparkle Market and owner of Bowlarama Bowling Lanes in Copley and Emery Farms in Medina. After moving to Florida Bud developed and built homes in Geneva Lake Estates in Melrose. Bud's involvement in his local Catholic Church was always important to him. He sang in the choir was on the church council and was a active member of St Vincent de Paul Society founding the chapter at St. Patrick's Church in Florida. Bud was a Eucharistic Minister who ministered to many at Copley Health Center where he was cared for during the last three years. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday August 27 2008 9:30 at St. Hilary Catholic Church 2750 W. Market St. where the procession to the cemetery will form. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at Hummel Funeral Home COPLEY 3475 Copley Rd on Tuesday from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society of St. Hilary Church 2750 West Market St. Akron OH 44333 or Copley Health Center Inc. 155 Heritage Woods Dr. Copley OH 44321.
