VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTEWarren G. Shriver 81 of Akron passed away on November 7 2008. He was born on December 9 1926 in Youngstown. Warren was preceded in death by his loving son William D. Shriver (Bill); loving grandson William R. Rabold (Billy); son-in-law and friend Richard A. DiBiase; parents Mary C. (Weber) and George W. Shriver; parents-in-law Margaret (Hamilton) and George Adams; sister and brother-in-law Mary Louise (Shriver) and Patrick Carney; sister Doris (Shriver) Daly; and brothers-in-law Roger Richter and George H. Adams. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Wilma M. Shriver (Adams); daughters Margaret A. (Robert) Rabold of Dublin OH Sara J. DiBiase of Cuyahoga Falls OH Jennifer M. (Richard) Barrett of Denver CO and MaryBeth Shriver of Chicago IL; grandchildren Courtney M. Rabold Caitlin E. Rabold Stephanie M. DiBiase Nathan K. Barrett Jacob W. Barrett and Adam J. Barrett; sisters Jean (Shriver) Richter of Laguna Woods CA and Claire (Thomas) Philibin of Youngstown OH; sister-in law and brother-in-law Elizabeth (Adams) and Leland Hirst of Youngstown; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Norman J. and Mary (Price) Adams of Bridgewater NJ. Warren was a graduate of South High School Youngstown in June of 1944. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1944-1946 and was also a graduate of Ohio State University School of Pharmacy in June of 1950. Warren worked then managed the Akron Clinic Pharmacy and retired after 41 ½ yrs. Warren was an avid 100 mile swimmer up until August 2008. Warren loved his annual Canadian fishing trips and played golf in the Sweet Singing Seniors Golf League. He was a member of St. Vincent Catholic Church and its Holy Name Society. Warren loved yard work gardening and even his 2 black and white cats his grand dog Peanut and even tolerated Izzy (Stephanie's cat)! He was loved and adored by all children known as 'No. 1' and the 'fabulous popcorn maker'. He will be missed by all. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday November 12 2008 at 11 AM at St. Vincent Church 164 W. Market St. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. Akron on Tuesday from 4-7 PM.
