Virginia Rose Sunday 79 passed away peacefully on November 26 2009 surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. Virginia was born August 21 1930 in Akron Ohio. She was actively involved in the family business President's Lounge for over 40 years. As an avid volunteer she gave her service to organizations such as the American Diabetes Association Akron Children's Hospital Harness Race Rally and St. Thomas Hospital's 'A Day at the Races.' She was also a member of the Akron Women's City Club. As a loving wife mother and grandmother Virginia 'Mimi' was known for her acts of kindness to and compassion for all those she met. Mimi placed a strong emphasis on spending time with family; she particularly enjoyed family dinners vacations and other special occasions. Preceded in death by her sister Ida (Hattie) Gradisher she is survived by her husband of 54 years Arthur children Arthur P. (Cynthia) Sunday Valerie (Rick) Humphrey Robert (fiancée Karen Alexander) Sunday and Gia (Gino) D'Andrea. Grandchildren include Katie Matt Megan Guilianna Mario Chris and Alex. She also leaves behind several relatives and friends. The family wishes to thank the supportive staff of Akron City Hospital. Visitation will be Monday Nov. 30 from 4 -7 p.m at Hummel Funeral Home at 500 E. Exchange St. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday Dec. 1 at St. Anthony Catholic Church followed by entombment in Holy Cross cemetery.
