Virginia Polles

October 7, 1928 — September 23, 2015

Virginia (Ginny) Polles (nee Bullock), 86, joined her husband Jack in the Church Triumphant following her valiant fight with congestive heart failure on September 23, 2015. Born in Columbus, Georgia she lived in the Akron area for the past 70 years. She was a homemaker for most of those years helping to raise six children in Copley. For sixteen years she worked for the Copley-Fairlawn City School District. Ginny and Jack would have celebrated 70 years of a wonderful marriage last December 22, 2014. They had six children: John (wife Gail) of West Lafayette, IN; Jeffrey (wife Debbie) of Peoria, AZ; Gregory (wife Janet) of Tallmadge, OH; Timothy (wife Betty) of Wildwood, MO; Christopher (wife Nancy) of Barberton OH; and Janet Nischt (husband John) of Copley OH. The most precious title she held in life was Yia Yia, as her unconditional love for her grandchildren and great grandchildren was ever present. Ginny and Jack have 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. A Celebration of Life service, Rev. Elizabeth Hadler officiating, is scheduled at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at the Montrose Zion United Methodist Church (565 N. Cleveland Massillon Rd. Akron), where family will receive visitors from 10:30 AM until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to her church, Montrose Zion United Methodist Church or Akron General Visiting Nurse Service and Affiliates.
