Virginia Mallo

Dr. Virginia Fitch-Mallo, age 76, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio passed away on Saturday, November 9, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. George J. Mallo as well as her parents Josephine Ellison and Foy Nelson Fitch and her beloved dog Rusty. Virginia was a professor of Social Work and later, the Director of the School of Social Work, both at the University of Akron. While at the University of Akron, she created an endowed scholarship in her parent's name to help students in the School of Social Work and Family Sciences who are in financial need. Virginia is survived by her stepson's Jeff and Joe (Laura) and her grandson Brody.

Cremation has taken place, and she will be laid to rest at Rose Hill Memorial Park in the following week.
