Vinceen Davis

September 25, 1932 — November 11, 2023

Caring, sweet, gentle, loving, kind, selfless, humble, brave, funny, happy, beautiful, fertile, friend, and dedicated servant. As the family sat with Vinceen Louise Davis on her last day on earth, these were the words we used to describe our mom. Memories like coming in the door after school every day to the smell of dinner cooking and mom folding clothes on the dining room table. She perfected the art of the power nap and would take one every day and when she woke up, she would start folding laundry again. Mom would give money to everyone with a sign even when she didn't have it to give...that never stopped her from rolling down the window and handing it out. Her sweet greeting of "Hi Honey" that she always used as you entered her place is something we will remember and cherish. Mom also made us laugh. We reminisced about the time mom out-ran Brian chasing a thief when Laura's purse was stolen out of the house, and when Sue and Jenn had the feet of her wheelchair on wrong and it made her legs go out the wrong way, she looked at us and said "Girls, I don't think these are on right" we laughed so hard until we cried.

If you knew Vinceen you knew she was a woman of faith and was guided by her Catholic beliefs. She spent much of her time serving in His honor. While busy raising her nine children, she always found time to be an active member of St. Sebastian Church. She was dedicated to her work with the Christ Child Society, The Legion of Mary, Good Samaritan Hunger Center and Meal on Wheels.

Mom was always doing something for someone else, whether it be through genuine conversation, her endless hours of volunteering, or just sitting quietly and praying with those she would take communion to. She had a gentle way of making those around her feel the Love of Christ by the way she lived every day of her life. What a beautiful legacy.

Vinceen is survived by her nine children: Mark (Carol) Davis, Scott (Stacy) Davis, Kim Davis, Brian (Laura) Davis, Paula (Dennis) Tucci, Susan (Michael) Snyder, Diane Kukura, Richard (Julie) Davis, and Jennifer (Hayden) Hajdu; her 25 grandchildren: Ryan (Geetha) Davis, Nichol (Brian) Johnson, Chelsea (Nicholas) Camiolo, Jeremy (Emily) Davis, Jordan Davis, Spencer Davis, Landon Davis, Bronson Davis, Tyler (Jordan) Tucci, Travis (Allie) Tucci, Trey Tucci, Tripp Tucci, Vincent DiCosimo, Anthony DiCosimo, Joseph DiCosimo, Daniella DiCosimo, Alexandria Kukura, Jacob Kukura, Emma (Chad) Payne, Dominic Davis, Gino Davis, Hadley Hajdu, Davis Hajdu, Brady Hajdu, Carter Hajdu; her 11 great grandchildren; her best life-long friend Judy Adams, all her friends at Francesca Residence, and her longtime caregiver and friend Mary Clinton Eiland.

Vinceen is preceded in death by her husband of 48 years Paul Eugene Davis, her perfect teammate in life. Two people who were seemingly opposites but were awesome together. Her sister Dorothy (Eddie) Johnston, and her two grandsons Austin Michael Davis and Vincent Michael Davis.
