Tyler was 33 years of age having beat cancer twice in his young life. Tyler was born on January 8th 1980 in Aspen Colorado but loved Akron having resided here since age 8. He was a leader in the community especially in the Highland Square area where he owned his first home. He partook in many different organizations such as the Akron Cooking Coalition Akron Radio Club Critical Mass and was instrumental in starting the Summit Cycling Center bike co-op. He was a brilliant man with an array of talents. Tyler was known to be able to fix absolutely anything and got his start at the age of 21 at West Hill Hardware. He will be forever grateful to his mentors Richard Tschantz and his father Rob Goodin. From there he evolved into a self-employed contractor and loved working on older homes in West Akron. Tyler's greatest passion was working with antique Vitrolite tile and was one of the very few people who specialized in this lost trade. Tyler was regarded as unique hard working insightful and generous. He was loved by the community and especially by his family and friends. His time off was spent touring the city and parks abroad on his many bicycles. If he was not riding he was fixing and customizing bikes for everyone to possibly convert them to his loved sport. His most faithful companion is Fritz his dog. Tyler took Fritz with him everywhere he went. He graduated from Old Trail Country Day School then St. Vincent-St. Mary High School. He had a constant search and love for knowledge and never stopped learning. Preceded in death were Tyler's grandparents Daniel and Patricia Brennan from Akron Oh and Hamel and Laura Goodin from Cape Coral Fla. and his uncle Ernie Bender from Vail Colorado. Tyler is survived by his mother Trish Goodin-Yard his step-father Jack Yard and his fiancée Kristi Wall with whom he had a very special relationship.
