Thomas Thompson, Jr.

Thomas A. Thompson, Jr., age 63, passed away on July 3, 2017. An amazing and versatile artist, Tom mastered multiple mediums- chalk, pencil, paint and ink, constantly challenging himself with personal projects between his commissioned works. A loving and adoring son, Tom spent months with his father working on Soap Box Derbies and never missed an evening chat with his mom on the phone. A fiercely loyal and protective big brother, Tom was quick with a joke but quicker to praise. A kind and gentle friend to all, Tom possessed a wonderful smile and laugh that he shared with everyone. Preceded in death by his brother, Tim; he is survived by his parents, Thomas and Virginia; brothers, Michael (Rebekah), Dan and Matt; nieces and nephews, Joshua, Wesley and Madison. Calling hours will be 4-7 pm Friday at the Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St. Akron, OHio 44304. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Saturday at Visitation of Mary (Annunciation) Catholic Church, 55 Broad St. Akron, Ohio 44305. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
