Thomas Plake

Thomas L. Plake (Our Mighty Oak), 62 of Akron was called to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at The Merriman. Welcomed with open arms standing before him the love of his life Cheryl. Thomas called many places home over the years, but to him home was wherever his wife and children were by his side. Thomas worked hard to provide for his family as the Superintendent Sanitary Engineer of Medina County. Later, deciding to pursue a dream of owning his own business with his wife Cheryl to allow more time to spend with family. He was preceded in death by his parents Clara and Lee Plake and brothers Matthew and Michael Plake. Thomas is survived by his loving children Todd (Robyn), Chrissy (Raymond) Minard, Carrie Plake, Timothy (Mindy) and Candice (Rusty) Justice. He was the proud grandfather of Austin Plake, Emily Minard and Alyssa, Seth and Kyle Justice; brothers Joseph (Arlene), William (Nadine) and Mike Duncan; sisters Susan (Jim) Cota, Patty (Joseph) Ulrich; sister-in-law Susan Plake; and many amazing nieces and nephews. Thomas has earned his place in Heaven... Now go Rest High on That Mountain. A Memorial Service will be held in Thomas's honor at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Suffield Fellowship Church, 1669 Waterloo Rd., Suffield, OH 44260 with a dinner to follow in the church hall.
