Thomas DeKemper

Thomas G. DeKemper, 79, died July 29, 2017. He was a 1956 graduate of St. Mary's High School, where he lettered in football, basketball, and baseball. Tom was an avid golfer, winning many local tournaments. Tom is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Ann (Shumaker); Children: Thomas, Michele (Michael) Novachek, Noreen (Mitchell) Wagner, Donald (Barbara); James (Marie); Daniel (Morgan Sampson) and Lisa (David) Lanham; Grandchildren: Renee (Ben) Nied; Marcus (Amanda) Wagner; Molly, Beth and Joseph Breiding; Tara and Alli Lanham; Michael Novachek; Andrew, Nicholas, Kathryn, Anna and Nora DeKemper; Abigail and Samantha DeKemper; Brother In-law and Sister In-Law Joe and Sandra Shumaker. Friends may call on family Monday July 31, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange Street Akron, OH 44304. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday August 1, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. Paul's Catholic Church, 1580 Brown Street, Akron OH 44301. A private interment of ashes will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery at a later date.
