Terry passed away on March 8, 2018 at Sunrise Senior Living in Cuyahoga Falls. He was born on August 3, 1926 to Russell and Florence (Neal) Adair in Copley, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Gwen and is survived by daughters Sherry (Glenn) Bower of Dayton, Cindy (Paul) Siegferth of Akron, Candy Adair of Haverhill, MA and son Scott (Linda) Adair of Canfield. He leaves behind his grandchildren Lisa Bower, Dan (Katy) Bower and their children Charlotte and Nathan, Steven Bower, Brandon (Erin) Eberle and their daughter Brynn, Jason (Claribette) Eberle, Lauren Adair, Sara Adair; and step-grands Paul and Sara Siegferth and their children Erin and Julia. Following his graduation from Copley High School in 1944, Terry served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was stationed with a medical unit in New Caledonia in the Pacific. Upon his return to Akron after the war, he met and later married Gwendolene Shreve on December 2, 1950. Soon after, he began a long career in the trucking industry, working for Lee Way Motor Freight and then Yellow Freight from which he retired in 1989. A proud homeowner, Terry enjoyed working out in his yard and doing house repairs. His home was always filled with music. Preceded in death by one sister Carol Johnson and a brother Jerry, he is survived by his sister Daryl Braman and sister-in-law Marty Knapp. Visitation hours at Hummel Funeral Home in Copley will be Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 5-7 pm. Burial services will be private. Donations in his memory can be made to the Copley Historical Society or to One of a Kind Pets in Akron.
