VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTETeresa Ann Cole YN1 US Navy retired passed through this earthly life on September 3 2009 after an inspiring and courageous battle against cancer. She was born in Columbus Ohio on August 7 1960. Teresa graduated from Walnut Ridge High School and attended The Ohio State University. She is well known for 16 years of public service in the Ohio Office of Budget and Management principally as the Secretary of the Controlling Board. It was during that time that she also enlisted in the US Navy Reserve serving 20 years with numerous medals awards and commendations. She was most recently reporting to US Navy Operations Support Center Akron assigned to US Forces Japan 105. Teresa moved to Akron in 1994. She worked most recently as a part-time parish employee at St. Hilary coordinating the Church bulletin and Website. In addition to her professional career she has participated in numerous volunteer activities including Journey Women and as facilitator of the parish Family Life group Assistant Director of Heroes Camp Vacation Bible School and as a-la-Cart coordinator at St. Hilary School. She was preceded in death by parents Ruth Ann and Francis C. Myers. A loving wife and mother Teresa is survived by her husband of 15 years Randy Cole and son Alex. She is survived by sister Fran Kelly; sister Diane (Richard) Langwasser; brother Michael A. (Rhonda) Myers; sister MaryAnn (Jeffrey) Graham-Lawson; sister JoAnn Elizabeth (Ricky) Smith; aunt and uncle Elizabeth Ann and Lee Vanoer; grandparents-in-law Larry and Beverly Cole grandfather-in-law Pete Landis; mother and father-in-law Brigitta and Rev. Rick Oaks; father-in-law Chet Cole; brother and sister-in-law Christopher and Jennifer Cole; several aunts and uncles-in-law; cousins; nieces and nephews; grand nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives and close friends. The family would like to thank the members of St. Hilary Parish Fairlawn; Faith Lutheran Church Fairlawn and First United Methodist Church Warren OH and the dozens of other churches and hundreds of friends for their prayers and support over this past year.
