Susan Rohner

May 3, 1951 — October 11, 2021

Susan Elizabeth Rohner passed away on Monday, October 11, 2021.

She was born in Ravenna Ohio May 3, 1951 and was the middle daughter of the late Carl and Anne (Esposito) Brown. She was a 1969 Graduate of Rootstown High School. Shortly after graduation she began a career in the Insurance Industry at the Brian Jones Insurance Agency in Ravenna. After a few years, she moved to Akron and took a position with SiebertKeck Insurance Agency, where she stayed for 30 some years as the Department Head and The Principal Insurance Underwriter in their Commercial underwriting dept.

She decided on an early retirement, so she could spend more time as a wife and mother, for which her husband and children are forever grateful. She had a natural gift of being a good listener, and the ability to always offer the right things to say. Even though they may have sometimes been hard to accept, her advice was always what was needed to be heard.

She became so uniquely skilled and talented in the kitchen that any of her family will, with a smile that automatically appears on their face, be quick to tell you that they would prefer staying at home anytime for her delicious meals, rather than going out even to any of the top-rated restaurants, because her food was just so much better.

It should certainly be noted about Susan that amongst all the other activities she did, that she also took an active interest with her church. It was about 2006 when the church's Treasurer resigned, and she stepped in to fill the void. This was a responsibility she still held, along with managing the church's bookstore when she passed.

Her favorite hobby was knitting. She could make all types of beautiful pieces of clothing with interesting patterns and color blends. Her hand-knitted creations then were given as gifts to others. She enjoyed the art of knitting so much that she also enjoyed helping teach others the joys and skills it offered. She would traveled around to various knitting shops where she took and gave classes. She also loved and always looked forward to a unique and special experience; what became a "Mother's Day" tradition, which comprised of weekend trips to various vacation spots. Going away with her mother and sisters. and then after her mother's death, seeing that the tradition was carried on. While on these special trips, they were just filled with laughter and happiness.

In addition to the many loving nieces, nephews, and their children and the many cousins that she leaves. Susan is also survived by her own children; her sons Anthony and Matthew Rohner and daughter Theresa Anne (John) Anderson, and her beloved and now broken-hearted husband who she married in 1979, Ralph Rohner, also known by many of his friends as Chip.

In life Susan always took her many friendships seriously and was always there for them. And in kind they loved her in return and would always be there for her.
