Stephen A. Farkas M.D. I have fought a good fight I have finished the race I have kept the faith. Stephen Farkas 63 passed away on June 9 2012 in the loving arms of his family. His life was cut short by pancreatic cancer. He was born on September 23 1948 to Steve and Peggy Farkas. He lived his life in northeast Ohio graduating from the University of Akron and the Ohio State University. He specialized in Infectious Disease at Summa Barberton Hospital for 33 years. His compassion sacrifice and dedication touched countless lives during that time. He also had a passion for teaching the residents. Stephen adored his wife Dorothy frequently saying she was the best thing that ever happened to him. He believed his children Valerie and Joey were his greatest accomplishments. His family was the pride and joy of his life. He was a wonderful son brother brother-in-law husband and father and we were so blessed to have him in our lives. He enjoyed traveling theater picnicking riding his bicycle and family time. Left to cherish his memory are his beloved family; wife Dorothy; children Valerie (Joseph) Maceyak ; Joel (Emily) Farkas; grandson Elijah Maceyak; mother Peggy Farkas; brother Timothy (Jamie); sister Kimberly (Danny) Lewis; and many extended family members including his second family the Yargers. He took care of us all and we feel lost without him. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday June 13 2012 at Wadsworth Church of the Nazarene 743 High St. Wadsworth. The family will receive friends and family on Tuesday from 5-8 PM at the church. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or the Livestrong Foundation.
