Sophie Urbas

Sophie Marie Urbas, 99, passed away Thursday February 9, 2017. She was born in Cleveland. She graduated from Villa Angela Academy and St. Vincent Charity Hospital Nursing College. She attended the University of Akron. Sophie retired with 50 years service as a nurse with Akron City Hospital and private nursing care. Sophie was preceded in death by parents Louis and Christiana Urbas and brother Louis Urbas. She is survived by nieces and nephews Christine (Ray) Burton, Greg, Jim (Lynn), Gerard (Rosalinda), Don, Mary (Michael) Burns, Michael; great nieces and nephews Lauren (deceased 2002), Emily (Matt) Blank, Geraldine Urbas (Michelle Marchand), Jaimie (Harold) Brown, Shawn (Lisa) Urbas, David Urbas, Andrew Burns, Austin Burns; great great nieces and nephews Keely Brown, Jordan, Morgan, Alec, Brandon, Brook, and Joseph Urbas. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday February 13, 2017, 11:00 am at the Village of St. Edward, 3131 Smith Rd., Fairlawn, where the family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the time of service. Interment All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.
