Sister M. Suzanne, OP, the former Margaret Ann Repasky, died at the age of 80 on March 31, 2015 at Regina Health Center, Richfield, OH. Sister Suzanne, the daughter of Stephen and Margaret Hartman Repasky, from St. Dominic Parish in Youngstown, entered the Sisters of St. Dominic of Akron, now Dominican Sisters of Peace, on August 15, 1954. She made profession of vows on August 4, 1956. Sister received her BSE from St. John College, Cleveland and MA from the University of Dayton. She began her teaching career at St. Felicitas, Cleveland. She also taught at St. Hilary and St. Vincent, both in Akron, and SS. Peter & Paul, Doylestown. From 1970-74, she served as principal at St. Joseph & Regina Coeli, Alliance and from 1974-78 was principal at St. Paul, Akron. Sister also taught religion at St. Vincent-St. Mary and mathematics at Archbishop Hoban High Schools both in Akron. Sister began volunteering as a support group facilitator and crisis helpline worker at the Battered Women's Shelter in Akron in 1985. After earning a Master's Degree as a Licensed Social Worker from the University of Akron in 1991, she became a full time a case worker and/or counselor at the Battered Women's Shelter in Akron spending many hours of individual and group support to victims of domestic violence. Because of health issues, she retired to the Elms Motherhouse in 2006 and then was moved to Regina Health Center on June 2011. Among her interests were sports, especially attending Notre Dame football games with her family. Sister Suzanne is survived by sisters, Mary Ellen Gantar of Scottsdale, AZ, Alberta McFarland of Canfield, OH and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Gerard and Stephen. Calling hours are on Monday, April 6 at Our Lady of the Elms Convent, 1230 W. Market St., Akron from 3:00-6:00 p.m. with a Wake Service at 4:00 p.m. Liturgy of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, April 7 at 9:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
