Mrs. Sina Essary, beloved wife, mother and friend from Akron, Ohio passed away peacefully on September 21, 2024, at the age of 83, surrounded by friends and family. Sina's life was marked by resilience and a remarkable ability to connect with others. She shared warmth and kindness with everyone she met.
Sina was born on July 19, 1941 to James Watring and Isabel Vitarella of Akron Ohio, and was a graduate of St. Vincent's, Class of '58. Sina attended St. Petersburg Junior College for a time and was briefly married to Lambert "Duke" Essary of Akron, Ohio. They had one child together, Lisa. Sina was a loving sister to both Jane Ella Watring and Joseph Watring, both passing before their time. Sina was preceeded in death by her second husband, who was famously shot in 1972. Sina and Lisa were miraculously unharmed. Sina is survived by her only daughter, Lisa Essary, as well as many cousins, nephews and nieces who will forever hold Sina in their hearts. Sina's spirit will live on in the many lives she touched.
Sina was a lover of the arts, travel, photography, had an unwavering support for her friends and family, and was an avid supporter of animal rights. At one point, apparently, Sina was breeding Red Tabby Persian cats in her Manhattan apartment, including having expert handlers show the cats. It is reported there were as many 13 living in the apartment. Although, there have been rumors as many as 28 actually resided there. Sina lived a full and colorful life, known for her generosity, passion for horses, famous dinner parties and love of the theater. Sina had a particular affinity for the musicals "Gypsy" and "Mame." Sina met many great characters along the way and treated her friends as family, often making personal sacrifices to help others.
