Shirley Waters

Longtime Akron resident Shirley Ann (Riley) Waters age 73 of Rockwall Texas went to be with our Lord on September 21 2013 after a heroic battle with breast cancer. She was born November 7 1939 in Shinnston WV to David and Louise (Poling) Riley. Shirley was a graduate of Buchtel High School Class of 1957 and studied Liberal Arts at Ohio University. Shirley was happiest when surrounded by family. Shirley always enjoyed returning to Akron to visit with family and friends (and Swenson's!). Shirley is survived by her husband of 54 years: Michael Stynes Waters; their five children: Michael Jr. of Prosper TX John of Addison TX Lisa Collins and husband Thomas of Copley OH Jennifer Becker and husband William of Terrell TX and Jessica Joseph and husband Andrew of Brookeville MD; ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; beloved sister: Sue Smith of Barberton Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents: David and Louise (Poling) Riley; her sister: Phyllis Campbell of Barberton OH; and her brother: David Riley of Barberton OH. Memorial Services were held on Monday September 23 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church 1305 Damascus Rd Rockwall TX 75087. In lieu of flowers donations may still be made to Susan G.
