Shirley Davis

Shirley Ann Davis, 91, was called home on July 28, 2021. She is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 66 years, Robert C. Davis of Akron Ohio, her sons, Robert J Davis (Erika) of Carthage, North Carolina, John Charles Davis (Rachel) of Wadsworth, Ohio, several nieces, nephews, and countless friends. Preceded in death by her daughter, Julie Davis, 5 brothers and parents.
Shirley attended Sacred Heart Academy. Upon graduation she attended secretarial school after which she spent several years at the Firestone Rubber Company as a secretary before marrying Bob. She was a long time member of the Beverly Park Garden Club and Christ Child Society. She was also a long standing volunteer at the local voting polls.
Shirley loved gardening, cooking, spending time reading books, old movies and enjoying nature. She left a lasting impression on every person she meant with her overflowing humility and warm personality.
Calling hours will be Sunday 3-5pm at the Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St. Akron, Ohio 44304. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am Monday at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St. Akron, Ohio 44301.
