Shirley Cline

November 23, 1931 — January 20, 2022

Shirley Ann (Bean) Cline passed away peacefully the morning of January 20, 2022, in Wadsworth, Ohio. She was 90 years old. Shirley was born in Akron, Ohio and graduated from Garfield High School. At age 19 she married the love of her life, Jim Cline, they spent nearly 55 devoted years together until his death in 2005.

After her children were all in school, she earned her Bachelor of Education from the University of Akron. Later she earned her master's from Ashland University. While working at her teaching degree, she began teaching in the Manchester school system. She later moved with her family to Newark, Ohio where she taught in the Newark school system. While attending school and working, Shirley always had time to share with others. She shared her love of music by teaching piano lessons and starting various church bell choirs. She was also a Girl Scout leader, led Vacation Bible School, chaperoned school trips for her classes and, with Jim, and an annual UN seminar for high school juniors and seniors for many years.

Shirley loved holidays, her favorite was Christmas, and she made each one special for her family. Her children are blessed to have inherited her love of reading, music, and travel, along with her sarcastic sense of humor. She planned long vacations for her family of 6 down to the smallest detail allowing her children to visit 48 states, Canada, and Mexico while still young.

In later years she and Jim traveled to several other countries even leading tours on a few occasions. She took great pride in her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved to show them off and plan special outings with them.

Shirley is survived by her son, Carl (Belinda) Cline ( Sharon township, Ohio), and daughters, Sherri Cline (Burbank, CA), Julie Williamson (Rancho Mirage, CA), Connie Vossler (Coventry, Ohio); Grandchildren, Cami (Chris) Cornett, Kerry (Jill) Cline, Allison (Timo) Holmquist, Nick, Kristen, Lauren Vossler; 4 great grandchildren, Lane, Cayden, Keegan and Cassandra; sister Dana Signet and brother Larry (Shellie) Bean and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Jim, she was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Emma Bean, and son in law John Williamson.

Private services will be held at a later date to allow the family to gather for a celebration of her life.
