Shelby Bender

Shelby J. Bender passed away on October 13, 2015. Shelby was born in Mont Coal, West Virginia on March 24, 1939. She worked in retail for many years, retiring from Wal Mart. Shelby was preceded in death by her former husband, Charlie Bender; sisters, Virginia Bisesi and Iona Taylor and brother, Carl Matthews and his wife, Delfina. She is survived by daughters and son-in-law, Cheryl (Jim) Gangle, Debra Bender and Beverly Sturm; sisters, Billie Sees, Louise Sims and Chris Banner; her beloved cat and companion, Wally; her caregivers, Barbara Wolfe and Sue Ross. Shelby is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. Friends will be received on Tuesday, October 20, 2015 from 5-6 p.m. with the Memorial Service to follow beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Rd. Copley, Ohio.
