Scott Doty

Scott Doty, age 58 of Massillon, departed this world on January 23, 2024 following a year-long battle with cancer. However, if you ask his loved ones, they will tell you untreated mental illness and alcoholism stole his spirit many years prior.

Scott, like all of us, made his fair share of mistakes. He was far from a perfect man. And yet, in his moments of sobriety - he was the absolute best son, brother, father, and friend you could ever imagine. More than anything, Scott should be remembered for those moments. He should be remembered for his incredible sense of humor. His innate ability to disassemble, fix, and reassemble anything. His willingness to lend a hand to those in need.

Following graduation from Jackson High School in 1983, Scott worked as a tow-truck driver for Belden Village Towing before settling in at the family business, H-W Machine, for over 20 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his children and friends, working on cars, caring for his pets, fishing, and reading.

Left to cherish Scott's memory are his mother, Phyllis; sister, Lynn (David); brother, Glen (Tonya); daughter, Rachel; son, Brandyn; and lifelong bestfriend, Danny. Scott is proceeded in death by his father, Ralph; and his beloved dog, Lacey.
