Sandy Smith

VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Sandra (Sandy) Singleton Smith 62 of Akron passed away on Monday March 28 2005 after a short courageous battle with cancer. She was born in 1942 in Akron Ohio and grew up in both Akron and Marietta Ohio. Sandy was a 1960 graduate of St. Vincent High School. She retired in 2001 after 39 years with Lucky Shoes. She was a member of St. Sebastian Catholic Church. Sandy was a dedicated volunteer in the community especially at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School where she received the Fr. Thomas F. Mahar Outstanding Alumni Award. She was preceded in death by her mother Mary Jane Singleton. She is survived by her daughters Michele and Marcy Smith of Akron sons Barry (Amy) of Baltimore MD Bryan of Jacksonville Beach Fl and Brant (Kari) of Akron. Grandchildren Chevonne Kayla Erique and Isaiah all of Akron and father Norman Singleton sisters Nancy (Dan) Roth Barb (Dick) Alesch brothers Jim Singleton David (Paula) Singleton Larry (Linda) Singleton brother in law Philip (Susan) Smith aunt uncle and many nieces and nephews and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday April 1 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Sebastian Church 352 Elmdale Ave. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. Thursday from 4 to 8 pm.
