Samuel Dean Thompson Jr. went home to be with the Lord on August 12, 2014. He was born June 12, 1929 to Edna and Sam Thompson Sr. in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Following graduation from Valley Forge Military Academy, Colgate University and two years in the Air Force, Sam started his business career as a pioneer in the convenience store industry. Sam was elected President of National Association of Convenience Stores in 1973 and served as President of the Lawson Milk Company from 1977 to 1982. Sam was preceded in death by his loving wife Tommie, and sister Clare. He is survived by his three sons Sam, Brett (Brenda), Mark; four grandchildren Courtney, Taylor, Mark, Kara, and niece Karen Hatt. His zest for life and love for family, friends and God will be remembered by all and will keep his legacy and memory alive through those that were blessed to have him in their lives. A memorial service will be held for family and friends at the Thompson home, 3985 Foxtail Trail, Copley, OH 44321 on Sunday, August 17th at 1:00.
