Ruth Stiller

Ruth A. Stiller 80 of Akron passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on October 18 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on July 29 1933 to the late Lee and Della Decker. Ruth graduated from Buchtel High in 1952. She was an avid golfer selfless volunteer and loved to entertain her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 57 years Michael sister Dottie (Glenn) Stampfle son Mike (Karla) Stiller and daughter Chris (Ed) Taggart. Her grandchildren Eddie Jr. Ben Eric Taggart Tim (Jaci) Courtney Tanner Kristin Katie(Corey) and Kara Stiller will remember her as a woman with passion for life and an incredible strength that filled their hearts and souls with everlasting love. Visitation will be Tuesday October 22nd from 4-7pm at Hummel Funeral Home 3475 Copley Rd Copley followed by a funeral service on Wednesday October 23rd at 11am at St. Sebastian Church 476 Mull Ave Akron. A private ceremony will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery at a later time. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Christ Child Society of Akron or St. Jude's Hospital.
