Ruby Clark

Ruby Alberta Clark passed away peacefully Tuesday August 10 2010 at the age of 92. Ruby was born September 1 1917 in Lakeville Ohio to Walter Stanley and Sarah Elma Bucy Mitten. In 1934 she moved to Cuyahoga Falls and graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1935. In 1940 she married Francis J. Clark Jr. and together they raised seven children. Ruby was a devoted mother grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She loved flowers and gardening and was a member of Friendship Garden Club Fairlawn Park Garden & Civic Center American Iris Society Akron and Northeast Iris Societies Japanese Iris Society Garden Forum of Greater Akron and Garden Club of Ohio where she was District Director. Ruby also loved to travel visiting Europe and most of the United States. She was preceded in death by her parents brother Wallace Mitten sister Eloise Mitten Arnold daughter-in-law Nancy Scarlett Clark and loving husband Francis who died in 2008. She is survived by her children Rebecca (Jack) Bayonnet Francis (Nancy) Clark Thomas Clark Stephen (Susan) Clark Dennis Joseph (Susan) Clark Margaret Schmitt and John (Alicia) Clark; grandchildren Marie (William) Burger Jack (Carla) Bayonnet Anne (Robert) Konecny Catherine (Lon) Mason Elaine (Timothy) Bender Caroline (Richard) Miller Matthew Clark Paul and Brian Clark Sarah (Joseph) Mentzer Rebekah (Gabe) Garcia William and Katy Schmitt Jacob Clark; and eighteen great- grandchildren. Also mourning her are her extended Clark and Mitten families and her dear friends at KentRidge at Golden Pond. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 9:30 AM on Thursday August 12 2010 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church 164 W. Market St Akron. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 8:30-9:30 AM.
