Ross Angeletti

February 3, 1915 — October 1, 2014

May we all be so blessed to enjoy 99 happy years on earth; to be a faithful disciple of Christ and His church; to marry our soul mate and enjoy 75 years together; to raise a loving family that exemplifies our best traits; and to be loved and admired by friends of all ages. Those were the attributes of Ross Raymond Angeletti, who passed away peacefully on October 1, 2014 and was reunited with his beloved wife, Carmella, in eternal life. Ross, a native of Newark, Ohio, lived and worked in Akron most of his life. He was wed to Carmella at St. Sebastian Church in 1938 where they were charter members. A devoted and active congregant, Ross treasured his role as the head usher at Saturday mass and will be remembered by many as the dapper fellow who greeted all worshipers, young and old, with a smile and kind words. Ross loved his Italian heritage, Italian food, and the history of his ancestors. He loved the 40 years he spent working at Goodyear and the lasting friendships he made there. He loved to travel, to bowl, to play golf, gardening and dancing. But most of all, Ross loved his family. Ross was preceded in death by his wife, his 4 sisters and 2 brothers, and his grandson, Ross Horvath. He is survived by two daughters , Carol Jean Horvath of Henderson, Nevada, and Patty Palmer (John) of Akron, four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and the countless people who were blessed by his time on earth. Now, Ross returns home to his Savior and to his true love so they can continue to look over the ones they held so dear. The family would like to thank the kindness and compassion showed by the staff at The Merriman, Harbor Light Hospice and the support of many friends during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Harbor Light Hospice at 25 South Main Street, Suite 7, Munroe Falls, Ohio 44262. Calling hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, October 10 at the Hummel Funeral Home, 500 East Exchange Street, Akron. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Saturday, October 11 at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 476 Mull Avenue, Akron. Private interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery.
