Rosemary Frail

Rosemary Frail, 88, loving mother and grandmother, passed away on Friday, July 17, 2015. Born on January 15, 1927 to the late Mary E. Haren McAlonan and James L. McAlonan in Akron and preceded in death by husband Raymond A. Frail and sister Rita Marie Samuelson. She is survived by children: son, Raymond G. Frail; daughter, Patricia (Mark) Tennant; beloved grandchildren, Victoria Rae Tennant and Alexander Mark Tennant; brother, Dan (Norma) McAlonan and numerous nieces and nephews as well as the extended honorary Tennant clan. She was a 1945 graduate of Buchtel High School and earned a BA (1949) and BS (1962) from University of Akron. A long term member of St. Bernard's Parish, she was a teacher (1958-1967) at Betty Jane Elementary, and a special Ed religion teacher at the Elms for over 30 years. She was a founding member of 57 years of Christ Child Society and a past president. She always had a smile on her face and cared about others, especially children- never complaining about her own issues. She was a dedicated volunteer at St. Bernard pantry and sandwich program. She enjoyed golf and playing bridge. Calling hours will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St. Akron, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m. Friday at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 44 University Ave. Akron, Ohio, interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
