VIEW MEMORIAL TRIBUTERose Zimmaro born December 2 1920 passed away on April 12 2009 at 88. She was preceded in death by parents Vincent and Catherine Martino Zimmaro sisters and brothers-in-law Raffaella Shaar ( Mike) Teresa Kostich (Gus) Mary Lewis-Tupper ( Lennox Boyd) Pauline Cox (Harold) Agnes great niece Amber Scott and nephew Neil Nicholas. Rose leaves behind loving nieces and nephews Hany Shaar Sara Shaar Nicholas Gus Kostich (Beverly) Bill Kostich (Maryann) Tom Kostich (Stephanie) Catherine Kostich Joseph Lewis (Pamela) Mary Lewis Tabeling (Patrick) William Cox Virginia Bonine (James) and Vincent Cox (Judy). She also leaves to mourn numerous great and great great nieces and nephews and long time family friend Don Drayer. All who knew Rose recognized her as a loving and very special soul. Born in Paterno Italy she came to the United States in 1928. Rose was thrilled to be an American citizen and was proud that in all her years of citizenship she never failed to cast a ballot. She graduated from St. Mary's High School then worked as a bookkeeper/accountant retiring from Goodrich Tire and Rubber Company and Society Bank. She loved to travel yet continually provided care love and support for others especially her family. Rose was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and active in numerous organizations including St. Monica's Guild the Altar Society at St. Bernard's and the Church of the Good Shepard women's circles AARP and the Golden Buckeyes. Friends will be received at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange Street Akron Ohio 44304 on Tuesday April 14 2009 from 5 to 7 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be on Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church 750 S. Main Street Akron Ohio. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Special thanks goes to the Daughters of Divine Charity at Francesca Hall who so lovingly looked after Rose while she was a resident there. She loved them all as well as the other residents. Special thanks also goes to the Visiting Nurse Hospice nurses and caretakers.
