Rosalie was a life-long east Akron resident, first generation of parents who came to the US from Hungary. She had many stories to tell of work at Ohio Bell as a telephone operator in the days of switchboards, as a riveter on Corsair aircraft at Goodyear during WWII (a true Rosie the Riveter), being shadowed by the enormous airships as a child constructed in the Goodyear Airdock that flew above the neighborhood blocking the sun, and all the shenanigans that she continued throughout her life giving us insight into the girl she was that grew into the woman we knew. She worked until age 80 and kept moving and playing until age 95. Calling Hours 5-7pm Friday at Hummel Funeral Home, 500 East Exchange Street, Akron. Mass of Christian Burial will be said 11:00am Saturday at St. Matthew Parish, 2603 Benton Avenue, Akron with internment following at Holy Cross Cemetery.
