Lt. Col. Ronald Edmund Bosley 80 of Akron passed away at home on Saturday January 26 2013 surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Fay Ramsey; mother Donna Davis; brother Dallie; sister Patricia; and infant son Ronald Francis. Ron is survived by his wife and best friend of 60 years Pat; daughters Patty (Bruce) Brewer and Donna Beers; grandchildren Raymond 'Bub' Beers Michael (Emily) Beers Tara (Brandon) Hadley Troy (Leslie) Robertson Brian and Brandon Brewer; great-grandchildren Tricia Robertson Lauren Beers Rowan Beers Davis and Corin Hadley; sister Jacquie (Bill) Soles sister-in-law Abbie Vernon; nieces Cheryl (Joe) Cormican and Vickie (Roy) Swartz. Ron retired from Goodyear Aerospace after 38 years of service. He also retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army after 43 years of dedicated service. In 1991 he was proudly commissioned a Kentucky Colonel by Governor Wilkinson. Ron loved to travel even visiting all 50 states. Camping and fishing with lifelong friends Luke and Jean Warner and Tom and Mae Clark were among his favorite pastimes. He was always a jokester and 'Have you heard the one about...' was how most of his conversations started. Family was number one to Ronnie. Ron's memberships included: Life member of American Legion Post 281 and a past member of its Honor Guard; Les Societe of 40 & 8 Post 468; Military Officers Association; Clan Ramsay Association of N. America; volunteer surveyor for Cuyahoga National Park; past member of St. Matthew Church Council and 50 Year Committee; Firestone Primetimers Senior Club; Master of Ceremonies of the Judy Cain Tap Kat Dance Troupe. Ronnie's family wishes to express their gratitude to the Hospice of Summa with a special thanks to his nurse Debbie. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 AM on Friday February 1 2013 at St. Matthew Catholic Church 2603 Benton St Akron. Entombment in Holy Cross Cemetery where American Legion Post 281 will assist with military honors. Friends may call at the Hummel Funeral Home 500 East Exchange St. on Thursday evening from 4-8 PM.
