Rollin Eugene Williams, 93, passed away on January 14, 2018. He was born June 27, 1924 in Akron, the son of Thomas and Olive Williams. He graduated from Garfield High School in 1941. A World War II veteran, he entered the United States Army in February of 1943. While in the army he served as a Message Center Chief in Rhineland, central Europe, from October of 1944 through April of 1946. During his military career he received several honors including the American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal of World War II and EAME Theater Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars. He was honorably discharged April 16, 1946. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Lucille Irene Williams, his sister Jane Underwood and his parents. He is survived by sons Dr. David (Donna) Williams, Mark Williams, and Thomas (Patricia) Williams; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place.
