VIEW PHOTO TRIBUTE''Robert Donald Newman 81 of Akron died November 5 2008 at his home surrounded by his family. Pops (Golden Age) enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. Robert will be remembered for his passion of family his love of music weight lifting story telling and Dodge Power Wagons. He was preceded in death by his parents Judson and Mary Newman; and brothers Lloyd Verne Evan and James (Bud) Newman. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 58 yrs Betty; children Sandy (Ronnie) Stephanoff Sue (Richard) McPherson Bob (Maria) Newman Donald (Marilyn) Newman Diane (Eddie) Czerwinski Jeff (Linda) Newman and Daniel (Kathy) Newman; grandchildren Angela Jonathan S. Kristie Shannon Ryan Andrea Alex Dustin Jonathan N Corey and Jennifer; great-grandchildren Tony Jason Nate Jackson Delaney Tori Lani Sterling and Rachael; great-great-grandchild Brayton; and many other friends and family. Robert's family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Michael Serene the staff of Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service and Dianna Scott R.N. for their special care. Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon (family will receive friends 1 hour prior) Monday November 10 2008 at Hummel Funeral Home 500 East Exchange Street. Rev. Dr. Bob Denton will officiate. Interment in Mount Peace Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 4-8 PM. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice in memory of Robert.
