Robert McClister

Robert Kenneth McClister, known affectionately as Bob, passed away unexpectedly on September 1, 2024, at the age of 64 in Liberty Township, OH. Born on September 25, 1959, in Coshocton, Ohio, he lived most of his life in Copley, OH where he was a cherished figure in his community and a beacon of joy to his family and friends.

Bob graduated from Copley High School in 1977 and furthered his education at the University of Akron. He loved life and lived every day to the fullest. An avid bicyclist, he often rode his bike, including a tandem with his beloved wife, Patti McClister. Music was another of Bob's great loves, and he played the guitar with a beauty that could only be matched by his love for his wife and their dog, Piper. Bob's home was his sanctuary, yet he was equally at home amidst his friends, with whom he frequently organized and attended high school reunions.

Bob's sense of humor and his penchant for puns were legendary. His knowledge on a myriad of topics always made conversations with him both enlightening and entertaining. He was a lifelong fan of the Cleveland Indians (he knows they changed the name but he didn't 😊) and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

He leaves behind his wife, Patricia, and a loving family including his brother Bill McClister; sister Kathy (Jerry) West; sister-in-law Delores (Dave) Plucinski; brother-in-law John Gilbert; brother-in-law Matthew Gilbert (Tina); and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews who will miss his warmth and wisdom. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert W. McClister and Yvonne L. McClister.

Bob's family and friends are invited to gather during the calling hours at Hummel Funeral Home, located at 3475 Copley Rd, Copley, OH 44321, on Friday, September 6, 2024, from 4-6 pm. A graveside service for family will follow on Saturday, September 7, 2024.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Bob can be made to Breakthrough T1D, formerly known as Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, at www.breakthrought1d.org, a cause close to his heart.

Bob's legacy of love, laughter, and music will forever resonate with those who were fortunate enough to know him. His life was a beautiful melody, composed of the notes that touch the soul and make the world a better place.
