Robert K. Lewis, Jr., age 79, passed away on June 1, 2014. He was born on November 14, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Robert K. and Alice K. Lewis. Bob was a 1952 graduate of Lake Forest High School in Lake Forest, Illinois. He earned his A.B. from Princeton University in 1956 and his JD from the University of Michigan Law School in 1959. In 1957, Bob married Ruth M. Husted of Akron, Ohio, his wife of 57 years. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps from 1959-1962 earning the rank of captain. His daughter, Robin, was born in 1963 in Akron, Ohio. Bob started his law career as an assistant Summit County prosecutor. He was a partner in the firm of Alpeter, Diefenbaugh, Davies, Koerber and Lewis. Bob was the Senior Counsel at Firestone Tire and Rubber. In 1987, Bob and Ruth moved to Fort Myers, Florida, where he established his private practice. After his retirement in 1999, they moved back to Akron. Bob was a member of the Akron, Ohio and Lee County Florida Bar Associations, Terrace Club at Princeton, Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity, Sons of the American Revolution, New York Society of Cincinnati, Portage, Fairlawn, and Whiskey Creek Country Club and Akron City Club. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his favorite Nana, Frances Mae Keese. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth of Akron; daughter, Robin Harvey and her husband, LeRoy; and granddaughter, Danielle Anna Keese Hatziyannis all of Falls Church, Virginia. Graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
