Bob Larson Obituary
Robert Fred Larson, known affectionately as Bob, passed away on August 1, 2024, at the age of 87. Born on June 7, 1937, in Maquoketa, Iowa, to Malva and Fred Larson, he spent his final days at Greenfield Estates Memory Care in Fairlawn, Ohio. He is remembered and revered for his adventuresome Viking spirit, devotion to family, award winning artistic talent, razor sharp wit, humility, enduring love of the outdoors, nature and the written word.
An avid traveler, Bob, grew up all over the Continental US and continued the movement throughout his life. Bob was born in Iowa and moved to Minneapolis, San Francisco, Spokane, Portland and graduated from Lower Merion HS in Villanova, PA onto Carnegie Tech in Pittsburgh. He met Nancy at a fraternity mixer and forever proclaimed how surprised he was when she "picked him". They began their life in Bryn Mawr, and then life moved them to Boyertown and Douglassville, PA then to the Midwest to Adrian MI, Wooster, OH, Columbus, OH and finally Wadsworth OH where he and Nancy settled to spend their final years close to family.
Bob graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology (Carnegie Mellon University) with a BA and MA in Fine Arts. Bob was a lifelong member of Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. Bob worked in print design, advertising and marketing for firms such as Vanity Fair, Quaker Maid Kitchens and ending his corporate career with White Westinghouse in 1995 to start their own business, Jefferson Framers - Jefferson, OH. In retirement Bob enjoyed woodworking and had a very successful online store - Foundwood Turners until 2020.
Bob is survived by his daughter Lori Larson Bernstein (Gary), son Neil Larson, son Eric Larson (Cheryl), grandchildren Celia and Gene Livshin, David Bernstein, Emmet Larson and great grandchildren Leni, Daphne and Caleb Livshin and we cannot forget his grand puppies Rooney and Mishka.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife Nancy Sheesley Larson, son Craig Robert Larson, granddaughter Lauren Elizabeth Bernstein and parents Fred and Malva Larson.
