Robert Hogue

July 13, 1936 — April 16, 2025

Robert (Bob) W. Hogue passed away peacefully on April 16, 2025 after a long illness.

Bob grew up in Akron and married the love of his life, June Flesher, in 1957. After meeting at a gas station, the two enjoyed 67 years together. Bob, with his wife, enjoyed going out to dinner, traveling, volunteering at the Summit County Fair and the Copley Lions. Bob and June's greatest joys were raising their two daughters Lori and Denise. Bob loved and supported his grandchildren by babysitting, going to their soccer or basketball games or just hanging out with them. He was very present in his children's and grandchildren's lives.

He worked at Ohio Edison for over 40 years and took great pride in his work in the Line Department where he worked his way up to a Line Supervisor. He made many friends at work that lasted a lifetime.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; mother and stepfather; Thelma and Ralph Sowers, father Leo Hogue, brothers; Don and Eugene Hogue; brothers-in-law; Frank and Okie Flesher, son-in-law; Dennis Youngman and granddaughter, Kendra Youngman.

Bob is survived by his loving wife June (Flesher) Hogue, daughters; Lori Youngman and Denise (Joe) Manley, grandchildren; Heather Lowery, Katelyn (Dan) Applegate, Jordan (Luke) Kelley, and Nathan Manley, and great grandchildren; Hunter and Nova Chapman and Natalie Applegate.

Bob leaves behind many memories of being a loving and supportive husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In honor of Bob's life please consider making a donation to Copley Fire & Rescue Association (www.copleyfra.com) in Copley, Ohio.
