VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Robert Griffith 85 passed away on Monday July 17th after a lengthy illness. He was born on January 11 1921 in Akron Ohio and lived his entire life in the Akron area. At eleven days old he was taken to the Summit County Children's Home where he resided until the age of 18. His nickname at the home was ''Happy'' which was a spot on description of his disposition for his entire life. On June 14 1952 he married Ina Marie Jackson a union that produced two children Ruth and Timothy Robert. Bob worked for over 25 years as a stationary engineer at Goodyear in the Powerhouse. He was a lifelong Indians and Browns fan and enjoyed watching Gunsmoke and Bonanza. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Akron for more than fifty years and a 32nd Degree Mason for over sixty. Bob is survived by his wife Marie and children Ruth Ann (fiancee John Masek) of Hollywood FL and son Tim (Mary) of Akron along with grandchildren Rob (Amanda) Chris Craig and Katie and special dog Gracie. He also leaves numerous nephews nieces and many friends. Friends may call at Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. Akron on Tuesday July 18 from 5-8 PM. Funeral Service will be at First United Methodist Church of Akron 263 E. Mill St. Wednesday July 19 at 11 AM Rev. D. Lynn Snider officiating with visitation from 10-11 AM.
