Robert Gras

Robert John Gras 67 of Akron passed away peacefully on January 20 2013. Born in Akron on April 27 1945 he was the only child born to the late Fredrick and Mary (Ingersoll) Gras. Robert graduated from Archbishop Hoban High School and attended the University of Dayton. He was a resident of Akron his entire life. In addition to his parents Bob was preceded in death by his aunts Josephine Gras and Dorothy Gras who were instrumental in raising him. He is survived by his cousin Mary Jo Gras Alexander of Cuyahoga Falls Aunt Geraldine Ingersoll and her family and close friend and neighbor Walter Holly of Akron all of whom were important to Bob in various times in his life. Bob will be remembered as a gentle soul always so kind and polite. Among his favorite hobbies were going on long walks and spending time in the library reading and studying. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday January 28 2013 11AM at St. Sebastian Catholic Church 476 Mull Ave. Akron 44320. Inurnment in Holy Cross Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Akron General McDowell Cancer Center 400 Wabash Ave. Akron 44307.
