Rita Smith

Rita A. Smith, age 87, passed away on August 18, 2017. She was born on April 27, 1930 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late William and Christine Delbrugge. Rita was a 1948 graduate of St. Joseph Academy. She was a longtime member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church. Her greatest joy was her family, she was a devoted wife and mother. Preceded in death by her son-in-law, Jim Singer; she is survived by her husband of 67 years, Eugene; children, Mark (Valerie) Smith, Christine (Edward) Pfeifer; Mary (Brian) Benz and Michelle (Gary) Anderson; grandchildren, Paul and Julie Singer and Rachel, Catherine, and Rebecca Anderson. Calling hours will be 4-7 pm Monday at the Hummel Funeral Home, 3475 Copley Rd. Copley, Ohio 44321. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00pm Tuesday at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, 1676 S. Cleveland Massillon Rd. Copley, Ohio 44321. Interment to follow at Copley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Guardian Angels Catholic Church.
