VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE Richard O. Weber 90 of Akron died March 30 2005 at his home. Born in Dayton May 21 1914 he had been an Akron Resident since 1948. He was a graduate of University of Dayton 1936 and served in the U.S. Army in WWII as an interpreter. Dick retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber in 1978 as Director of Corporate Cost and Price Administration after 42 years service. He was a member of St. Sebastian Church. He was an avid traveler and visited 49 out of 50 states. Dick also traveled to Canada Mexico Europe and his beloved Brazil where he worked for several years for Firestone International. He also enjoyed playing the violin in family jam sessions and loved to dance with his wife Carroll. Richard is preceded in death by his wife Ellen Carroll; brother Louis; sister Beatrice and brother Herbert. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Kay (Al) Forsyth of Logan Utah son and daughter-in-law Richard H. (Doreen) Weber of Akron; grandchildren Cory and Jenna Forsyth; niece Barbara (Joseph) Kolakowski; nephews Ernest (Helen) and John (Sharon) Flamm; brother-in-law Hale (Nancy) Kiser and many grand-nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday April 2 2005 at 11:30 am at St. Sebastian Catholic Church Interment in the Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call the Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St. TODAY Friday from 4-7 pm. Memorials may be made to St. Sebastian Parish Foundation or Hospice of VNS 3358 Ridgewood Rd. Akron OH 44333.
