VIEW MEMORIAL PHOTO TRIBUTE'' Richard C. Staats 84 years of Akron died Monday April 28 2008. He retired from Firestone Tire in 1981 after 37 years of service. Richard was a member of the First Assembly of God a volunteer at the Haven of Rest and recognized for 10 000 hrs. of service at Akron General Medical Center. Preceeded in death by his first wife Mary of 29 yrs; sister Eura Cummings and brothers Arnold & Doyle. Survived by his wife Sylvia of 23 yrs; sons David (Virginia) and Philip (Jihan); daughter Marilyn (Ron) Davis; sister Marie Hedges; grandchildren Megan (James) Vanko Christina and Mark (Maria) Staats Emily (Kevin) Miller and Mary Davis; and great-grandsons Zachary Vanko and Benjamin Miller. The family wishes to thank the staff at The Briarwood for their loving care of Richard. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM. Saturday May 3 2008 at the Hummel Funeral Home 500 E. Exchange St Akron OH 44304. Pastor Cary Wadle officiating. Interment in Rose Hill Burial Park. Family will receive friends at 10:00 AM on Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
