Richard "Dick" Dean Kistler, aged 84, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2025. Born in Pittsburgh, PA, Dick spent most of his life in Akron, Ohio. He attended Buchtel High School and the University of Akron. He worked for several family businesses and in the restaurant industry.
He is survived by his loving family: daughters Carli Kistler-Miller (Kevin) and Laine Vereecken (Joe), his son Scott Kistler (Jessie), five grandchildren: Vivian Miller-Meacham (Chris), Laine Miller, Izzy Vereecken, Vince Vereecken, and Luci Kistler, and one great-grandchild, Avalon Meacham.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Roscoe "Ross" Kistler and Douthat "Dot" Kistler, his first wife, Vivian Carli Kistler, his second wife, Claudia Kistler, his brother, Ross Kistler Jr, and his sister, Polly Ross.
Dick cherished his family deeply and enjoyed playing cards with them. He was an avid sports fan, passionately supporting the Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Cavaliers, St. Louis Cardinals, and Ohio State football.
Memories with Dick are filled with smiles, laughter and adventures. Dick's legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
There are no services and the burial will be private.
