Richard Gray

Richard Holt ''Dick'' Gray 80 of Copley died April 7th in Marietta GA after a short illness. Mr. Gray was born in Cowen WV and has lived in Copley since 1960. He leaves behind many close friends with whom he enjoyed sporting events gardening and golf. Mr. Gray was a long-time employee of the Copley Fairlawn school system where he taught and coached for over 30 years. He is best remembered for his tenure as the Varsity football coach and director of the NE Ohio Regional High School basketball tournaments. A life-long gardener hunter and sports enthusiast Mr. Gray particularly enjoyed playing golf after his retirement. Preceded in death by wife Anne he is survived by his children Mike (Isabel) Beth Post (Andre) Tammy Dayton (Jay) Scott 6 grandchildren 2 great-granddaughters his aunt Mabel Radcliff 2 brothers and 1 one sister. He is also survived by several cousins nieces and nephews. Funeral Services Monday April 12 2010 at 11AM at Copley United Methodist Church 1518 S. Cleveland-Massillon Rd. Interment in Copley Township Cemetery with Rev. Becki Bowan-Verbridge officiating. Friends may call at Hummel Funeral Home COPLEY 3475 Copley Rd on Sunday from 3-6 PM. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Copley Booster Club or the American Lung Association.
