Richard Dockery

October 25, 1947 — January 7, 2021

October 25, 1947 - January 7, 2021.
He was born the oldest of six children to James R. Dockery and Donna M. Porter. He was a young man in the sixties and everything that meant. He married Karen Hargis and had two beautiful children, Gabe and Starr. He then met and married a young girl from Wadsworth, Erin, clearly the love of each other’s lives. Together they had another beautiful child, Megan. They were married for 42 years until this last week. Introduced by his beloved Uncle Clyde, he loved the game of pool; and he was good at it. In spite of a humble education, he founded and successfully ran Action Billiards for twenty years. This gave his family a very blessed life. Rick and Erin traveled to nearly every National Park in the continental United States; from Acadia to Yosemite, from the Grand Canyon to Yellowstone, from Zion to the Everglades. We loved the “Route 66” and had great fun in the journey. Rick was a very strong, intelligent and sensible man. He was also a man of faith. Back in the day, Rick introduced his little brother Jim to sixties culture. Later, Jim introduced his big brother to Jesus. He and Erin would spend their most special time together reading the Holy Word and praying. His three children produced ten grands: Gabriel (Rachelle), Drew and Gavin Michael Dockery, Connor, Logan and Bradyn Robinson, and Layla, Wyatt, Tanner Rick and Reese Wayman. Thank you Jen Dockery, Eric Robinson, and Paul Wayman. He leaves his dear siblings: Cindy Sweazy, Deb Dockery, Jim (Jeanie) Dockery, Donna (Dave) Pauli and Laura (Jerry) Kelly and their families. He leaves others: Bob Appleman, Aunt Eileen, his mother-in-law, Nila, Aunt Dixie and Erin’s family. He leaves his friends at The Sanctuary: Bobbie, Becky, Paul and Norma and more...
I love you Rick, until we meet again.
